The Posh Development side were beaten 2-1 by Luton Town at the Nene Park Academy on Wednesday afternoon.

The Peterborough United Development side slipped to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Luton Town on Wednesday afternoon with young midfielder Jermaine Anderson on target for Gavin Strachan's men.

Posh created a host of chances in the first half but it was the finishing that let the side down with the Hatters shot-stopper in inspired form.

Teenage striker Jaanai Gordon had already hit the outside of the post and Danny Swanson saw a free-kick tipped onto the woodwork, before Anderson struck at the back post to give Posh a deserved lead.

However, the Hatters, who fielded one-time Posh striker Scott Rendell in the starting line-up, levelled the scores in the second period and found a winner following a crisp strike from Alex Lawless.

Posh: Day, Knight-Percival, Grant (sub Carter), Brisley, Little, Swanson, Payne (sub Conlon), Mendez-Laing, Anderson, Sinclair, Gordon.
