Shaq McDonald scored twice as the Posh under 18s were held to a 3-3 draw by Stevenage.

The Peterborough United under 18s finished the league campaign with an entertaining 3-3 draw against Stevenage at London Road on Thursday evening.

It will come as no surprise to many that Shaq McDonald was in goal-scoring form - the front man bagged a brace, the second a stunning strike, but the visitors played well in the second period.

McDonald opened the scoring inside two minutes as he charged down a clearance from the goalkeeper with the ball finding the back of the net.

However, the visitors levelled with a superb strike, Lynch given no chance as a 25-yard rocket found the top corner.

McDonald was clearly a man not to be outdone, he picked up the ball 25-yards from goal and sent a dipping effort past the goalkeeper to give Posh a deserved lead.

Matt Carter struck the outside of the post and McDonald also hit the woodwork as Posh created numerous chances in front of goal.

Stevenage levelled with a low finish and then got themselves in front as Posh dallied in defence, but substitute Liam Marshall headed home a Tom Conlon corner with his first touch to earn Posh a point.

Posh: Lynch, Carter, Sage (sub Marshall), Burgess, Lawlor, Coulson, (sub Ward), Brown, Anderson, McDonald, Carthey, Gordon (sub Conlon). Unused subs: O'Reilly, Wright.
