The under 16s were beaten 2-0 by Milton Keynes Dons on Saturday morning.

The Peterborough United under 16s were beaten 2-0 by their Milton Keynes Dons counterparts at the Nene Park Academy on Saturday morning.

David Farrell's men created numerous chances in front of goal, but good goalkeeping prevented Posh from finding the back of the net.

Substitute Ben Keatings caught the eye with the 15-year-old showing some neat touches and his energy lifted the side.

Posh goalkeeper Camfield made a few good stops to prevent the Dons from scoring a third.

The breakthrough came in the first half from close-range although at first glance it appeared the striker was in an offside position as he tucked the ball into the back of the net.

The second goal came from the penalty spot which was coolly dispatched past Camfield.

Left-winger Dovydas Kairy, who was called up for the Lithuania under 17s earlier in the week, played 90 minutes.

Posh: Camfield, Poli, Mattin, Sprouse, Davies, Dost, Ward, Aysa, Luto, Darnell, Kairys. Subs used: Keatings, Fife, Hartley, Lowesby.
