Tommy Robson thanks well wishers after heart scare.
Tommy Robson, Peterborough United’s all-time appearance-maker, has thanked supporters for their well wishes as he prepares for a triple heart bypass at Papworth Hospital. Robson, who works as a match day host at London Road, was taken ill at the weekend and after tests, it was discovered he had sustained a heart attack.
The Football Club has been inundated with support for Robson and we have passed those well wishes on to the 68-year-old. Robson himself said: ‘I’ve had to turn my phone off because I’ve been getting messages every five minutes.
‘But I cannot thank the public enough for the concern they are showing me. It’s been a very difficult time for me and my family, but the support I’ve received is a great comfort. I’ve been overwhelmed by the reaction. It’s just been incredible and I feel quite humble. I need surgery to sort the problem out, but I am in very good hands at Papworth and I’m sure I will be fighting fit again soon,’ Robson said.
