George Boyd admitted he has a new number one in his goals compilation.

Unsurprisingly, George Boyd has a new 'number one' in his goals compilation following the stunning strike from close to the half-way line against Huddersfield Town on Tuesday evening.

Boyd's stunning effort from around 45-yards was his second of the night as Peterborough United moved off the bottom of the npower Championship table with a 3-1 victory over the Terriers.

'I scored one against Boston when I first joined the club and that was always my number one, but I think I may have a new number one now! I was obviously very pleased with it, Saido's lay-off was superb and I just caught the goalkeeper off his line and thought I will have a go.

'I am glad it went in because the manager would of probably had a go at me for shooting from such a long way out! I have seen it again on Sky several times and I am sure I will keep watching it,' Boyd joked.

The long-serving midfielder was instrumental in the success over Huddersfield, who were comfortably beaten as Posh recorded their first home league success of the season.

'It was a really good win, the lads were superb, both at the back and going forward and we caused them plenty of problems. I was delighted for young Kgosi Ntlhe to get his first senior goal and we move on to Derby on Saturday.

'This win over Huddersfield counts for nothing if we can't back it up on Saturday. It will be another massive game and we are all looking forward to it,' Boyd added.
