Donate your top lip to Movember and lead out the Posh!
Fans of Peterborough United are urged to register their top lip at movember.com in a bid to be their 12th Mo in the Crowd in support of Movember and Prostate Cancer UK.
Peterborough United fans who have donated their top lip to Movember for the month can win the coveted title of 12th Mo in the Crowd and lead out their team at the nPower Football League match between Peterborough United and Blackburn Rovers live on Sky Sports, Saturday 17th Movember at 5.30pm.
To enter, fans have contact the club with their photo, their story or flag up the amazing amount that is raised. The winner of the coveted title, as judged by a club panel, will be rewarded for their mo growing efforts.
Posh's support for Movember coincides with a year-long programme of activity in support of Prostate Cancer UK, which is one of the club’s charity partners for the season and The Football League’s Official Charity Partner for the 2012/13 season.
Every penny raised through Movember and Prostate Cancer UK’s partnership with The Posh and The Football League will help more men survive prostate cancer and enjoy a better quality of life.
A club spokesman at Peterborough United said: 'We are thrilled to be indulging in some top lip topiary in support of Movember and its work with Prostate Cancer UK to fight the most common cancer in men. With 250,000 men living with prostate cancer in the UK – enough to fill Wembley Stadium three times over – there is a real need to support those affected by the disease now and invest in research for the future.
“Movember’s a brilliant initiative to raise awareness of prostate cancer amongst our players, staff and supporters alike. We really hope that everyone will show their support and help them raise as much money as possible for the most common cancer in men – or even get on board by growing a Mo of their own.'
Mark Bishop, Director of Fundraising at Prostate Cancer UK, added: 'Each year we see more and more men dedicate their top lips to Movember and we’re delighted that everyone has joined this growing movement. More than £15 million raised by Mo Bros and Mo Sistas across the UK last year came directly to Prostate Cancer UK to help us fund a wide range of medical research projects. Thanks to Movember, and the support of organisations like Peterborough United, we can help more men survive prostate cancer and enjoy a better quality of life.'
