Faz Ready For Big Night

31 July 2012

David Farrell will be involved in the Posh squad for the pre-season friendly against Aston Villa on Wednesday night.

Long-serving former Peterborough United winger David Farrell is included in Darren Ferguson's squad for Wednesday night's pre-season friendly with Premier League side Aston Villa at London Road (7.45pm).

Farrell, who has clocked up over 10 years service as a player and as a member of the community staff, will make his playing return against the club where he started his career.

He admits he cannot wait for the game and is hoping for a positive reaction from the supporters.

'I can't wait to be honest. It feels like it has been a while for the game to come around after the initial discussions. It will be great to put the boots on again and hopefully there will be a decent turnout from the supporters.

'I always had a decent rapport with the fans and for me to be able to play some part against the club where I started my career will be a special feeling,' Farrell said.

Aston Villa will be bringing a full squad with them to London Road with Darren Bent expected to lead the line. The game is not all-ticket, but tickets are available in advance from the London Road Ticket Office and at www.theposhtickets.com.

Tickets are priced at £15 for adults and £5 for under 16s (sitting or standing).
