Peterborough United is today announcing a programme of in-school workshops to help local youngsters identify their career goals.

This is part of a national programme called ‘What’s Your Goal?’, run by Football League sponsor npower, and delivered by The Football League Trust, to give students across the country the chance to experience work life in the football industry.

As part of the in-school session run by Peterborough United, local youngsters will be shown how to complete an application form and encouraged to apply for one of five sought after four-day work experience placements at the club, which will take place during the 2013 Easter holidays.

The career-focused lessons are suitable for year 10 and 11 students and will be taking place between now until mid-February 2013. The closing date to apply for work experience at Peterborough United is 1st March 2013.

Clare McDougall, head of community and education for npower, comments, 'Clubs have a real range of exciting roles on offer: community coach, public relations manager and club shop manager to sports therapist, stadium manager and groundsman to name just a few. So there’s a real opportunity to for youngsters to get a valuable insight into what it’s like to work in the world of football.'

Any local schools interested in receiving a careers session from the club should contact Nick Sheppard on nick.sheppard@theposh.com
