Sir Alex Ferguson will be bringing a 'strong' squad to London Road.

Peterborough United entertain a Manchester United XI at London Road on Friday 10th August (7.45pm) and boss Darren Ferguson has confirmed that he is expecting the Red Devils squad to be a 'strong one'.

Darren's father Sir Alex has confirmed he will be in attendance for the friendly fixture. The Posh boss believes it will be a great night under the lights at London Road.

'Barring injuries, I imagine there will be a strong Manchester United squad at London Road. I have spoken to my father and he has told me that he will be bringing a strong squad. Things do change, but they have a big squad to choose from and they are all top quality players.

'It will be a great night. It is Manchester United at the end of the day and we are very fortunate to be able to get them down for a friendly fixture. I would like to thank my Dad for bringing them down. It is a good game for them too, the players that went away to the European Championships won't have played too many games and will be needing fitness so although they have a busy schedule, I am sure it will be a decent squad involved.

'It is the last game before the season gets underway. You would like to think that with Manchester United coming to town it will be a full house, that is what we are hoping for. I think it is better that it is a night game, it provides a better atmosphere and everybody is looking forward to it,' Ferguson said.
