Darren Ferguson is looking forward to Friday night's pre-season friendly with a Manchester United XI.

Peterborough United manager Darren Ferguson is looking forward to Friday night's attractive pre-season friendly with a Manchester United XI at London Road (7.45pm).

Despite the Red Devils' busy schedule, Ferguson's father Sir Alex has agreed to send a talented team for the final warm-up ahead of the domestic season.

'I am looking forward to the game,' the Posh boss said. 'Whatever United side it is will be extremely talented and it is a good test for us ahead of the cup-tie with Southend United on Tuesday evening. My father will be at the game and I am sure that it will be an entertaining game for the supporters.

'We are all excited about the new season and this will be the final chance before the season starts to test ourselves,' Ferguson said.

The game is no longer all-ticket, but over 6,000 tickets have been sold in advance. Fans can now pay cash at the turnstiles in the South Stand, London Road Terrace and Moy's End Terrace. Fans wishing to sit in the North Stand will need to purchase a ticket from the London Road Box Office.
