Posh to St. Andrews on Saturday to face Lee Clark's Birmingham City (3pm).

Peterborough United head to St. Andrews on Saturday looking for the first point of the season with Birmingham City providing the opposition (3pm).

The Blues, managed by Lee Clark, have had an indifferent start to the campaign, but they have kept the core of their squad from last season together and will be expected to challenge for promotion.

Posh boss Darren Ferguson addressed the media on Thursday and believes the Blues will provide a stiff test.

'Birmingham are a very good club and they have a lot of talented players. They haven't had a great start to the season and I am sure they are looking at this game and thinking it will be a good time to play us, but I was pleased with the performance on Tuesday against Reading.

'Obviously we need to cut out the defensive mistakes, but going forward I think we did very well and we need to take that into this fixture,' Ferguson said.

Ferguson confirmed that striker Tyrone Barnett is fit and available for selection after injury, but the game has come too quick for Daniel Kearns, Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, Tommy Rowe and David Hibbert, the latter two still a little way from fitness.

Lee Frecklington, Craig Alcock and Gabriel Zakuani all return to the squad after being rested on Tuesday evening.
