Match Preview: Posh Under 21s v Ipswich Town Under 21s 

Peterborough United Under 21s enter the final run-in of the regular season, with Ipswich Town next up in the Professional Development League on Tuesday afternoon (1.30pm). 

With seven games left on the agenda, Ryan Semple’s side will be looking to secure the best possible seeding, starting with a midweek battle against Ipswich Town.  

Our youngsters, who fell to a 4-0 defeat at the Cardiff City Stadium last time around, will be looking to ready themselves for the visit of the Tractor Boys – going in search of a return to winning ways.  

Tuesday’s visitors will be buoyed by their performances in recent weeks, making the trip on the back of six unbeaten in the league – including three victories across this stretch.  

Our last meeting was brought to life when Pemi Aderoju netted a quick double in the opening minutes, helping Semple’s men secure a 2-1 victory on home soil.  

TEAM NEWS  

Posh are awaiting news of whether they will have any first team professionals available for selection with Darren Ferguson's men in action against Birmingham City. David Kamara and Pemi Aderoju are injured while Ollie Rose is nursing a calf injury.

THE OPPOSITION  

Ipswich sit sixth in the southern section, having picked up 35 points from 26 league matches. John McGreal’s young Blues have seen nine victories, with an equal amount of losses and eight draws over the course of the term, putting them in the mid-reach of the table.

Lead Professional Development Phase (Under 21s) Coach Ryan Semple said ahead of the game: “Ipswich are a good side, we haven't played them for over a year, but we have watched them and they have some good players who bring with them a physicality. We are looking forward to the game, it is a good opportunity for the players to perform regardless of whether it is an Under 21 group or a group with a few of the first team involved in it."
