Team celebrate

Archie Collins fired the winner as Posh secured a 1-0 win at Fleetwood Town in Sky Bet League One action.

Anyone seeing the score-line come through at the final whistle on the vidi-printer, some onlookers might have analysed the 1-0 win at Fleetwood Town as a battling defensive display on the road and whilst that was the case, Darren Ferguson’s men carved out multiple chances in front of goal and in truth should have won far more convincingly.

Posh should have been in front inside the opening two minutes as Peter Kioso picked out Ricky-Jade Jones but he couldn’t convert from close-range. On three minutes, Hector Kyprianou struck the post after an excellent centre by Ephron Mason-Clark and moments later, Joel Randall saw a deflected effort loop just over the bar.

Poku was denied by a smart stop from Lynch before Randall sent an effort wide of the target after a flowing move. Vela was cautioned for a foul before Jayden Stockley glanced a header wide after a free-kick from Patterson.

On 24 minutes, Mason-Clark was superbly denied by Lynch before the keeper kept out Jones after he had ran in behind. Josh Knight produced two excellent blocks to thwart Jack Marriott on 33 minutes before the deadlock was broken.

Archie COLLINS collected a pass and let fly from distance, his effort appeared to take a slight nick off Vela and arrowed into the bottom corner. Posh should have been two goals to the good four minutes into the second half as Randall picked out Jones at the back post, but his close-range header was somehow kept out by Lynch.

Lawal was cautioned for a foul on Poku before Randall saw a fierce drive deflected over the top. On 62 minutes, Bilokapic produced a stunning stop to keep out a curling effort from substitute Asamoah, a truly incredible reach by the keeper.

Mason-Clark saw a shot blocked on 72 minutes before Kioso saw a low left-footed shot kept out by Lynch at his near post. In stoppage time, Bilokapic produced another excellent stop to keep out Hayes from close-range.
