Michael Bostwick scored the winner with a low free-kick to record Posh a hard-fought win over Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Michael Bostwick scored the winner for Peterborough Untied as Darren Ferguson's men recorded their first league win in six games with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers at London Road.

Posh were fortunate inside the first five minutes of proceedings as the ball appeared to strike Mark Little in the box, but referee Mr Madley waves away the Wolves protests.

Lee Tomlin saw a toe-poke go wide of the target at the other end as the game began in an open fashion.

Sako saw a free-kick blocked before Michael Jacobs fired wide from 20-yards as the visitors created a number of opportunities. On 24 minutes, Griffiths headed over from six-yards after a good run and cross from Jacobs.

Ricketts was denied by Bobby Olejnik on the half hour mark while Mark Little saw an ambitious half volley from 30-yards fly over the top.

Sako found the side-netting after bursting into the box on 42 minutes as the first half drew to a close. On the stroke of half-time, Griffiths dragged a right-foot shot wide of the target while Batth looped a header well wide before the referee brought an end to the first period.

Tomlin fired a free-kick into the wall on 52 minutes after he had been felled on the edge of the box. Posh made a double change on the hour mark as Kane Ferdinand and Nathaniel Mendez-Laing were introduced into the fray.

Olejnik was alert to clear the danger after an underhit back-pass from Knight-Percival nearly allowed Griffiths to nip in on 66 minutes. Sako saw an angled volley well claimed by Olejnik on 76 minutes.

On 79 minutes, Posh got their noses in front as Mendez-Laing was felled outside of the box and Michael BOSTWICK stepped up to fire through the crowd to give Posh the lead.
