Ladies Back On Track After Comfortable Win

Keir Perkins nets hat-trick in win.

4 December 2017

Posh Ladies record a comfortable home win over AFC Ladies.

Peterborough United Ladies produced a dominant display of attacking football to beat AFC Leicester Ladies 4-1. The Ladies started strongly but fell behind to a controversial penalty decision in the 16th minute. Thereafter they continued to press forward in numbers only to be outdone by a combination of wayward finishing and good goalkeeping from the Leicester goalkeeper.

Just as it looked as if the Posh Ladies were going to show nothing for their first half efforts Emma Stevenson in the 43rd minute chipped a sumptuous ball to striker, Keir Perkins who finished from close range to make it 1-1. Spurred on by the equaliser Posh Ladies continued to attack and on 45 minutes Keir Perkins made it 2-1 with a lob over the oncoming goalkeeper.

The manager’s half time talk was very much to continue where the Posh Ladies left off in the first half but it wasn’t until the 73rd minute that the Ladies were able to secure the third vital goal. An in-swinging Jess Driscoll corner fell kindly for Jeorgia Carr who poked the ball in from close range.

With the confidence of a two goal cushion Peterborough United Ladies continued to push forward and in the 80th minute they were rewarded for their efforts when a header from Jess Driscoll found Keir Perkins in space who coolly slotted the ball past the despairing keeper.

This was a confident display from the Peterborough United Ladies who dominated the game from start to finish.

The POM was Jess Driscoll.
