Peterborough United bowed out of the FA Youth Cup after a 5-1 defeat to Premier League side Fulham at London Road on Thursday evening.
The score-line was harsh on the Posh youngsters with three goals in the final five minutes, two from substitute Muamer Tankovic, who looks a class act at just 16-years-old.
Posh had the best chance of a first half lacking any real clear cut opportunities with Jacob Joyce denied by goalkeeper Grant Smith after an excellent flick from Jaanai Gordon-Hutton.
Fulham's best opportunity fell to the lively Charles Banya who tricked his way past four challenges before Michael Richens produced a last gasp block.
Fulham opened the scoring early in the second half through Omri ALTMAN and doubled their advantage through Cauley WOODROW, who later went off with a serious knee injury.
Posh halved the deficit through an indirect free-kick by Jacob JOYCE after Sean Kavanagh had been penalised for a back pass.
Appeals for a spot-kick for handball were turned by referee Mr Ross as Brister appeared to handle and Posh were punished moments later as Fulham caught the hosts on the counter attack.
It was substitute Maumer TANKOVIC who did the damage, curling past Alex Archer from the edge of the area and then he took advantage of a poor clearance from the goalkeeper to coolly lob him for the fourth goal.
The scoring was completed when Tankovic found Solomon SAMBOU who swept the ball past Archer. The score-line was definitely harsh on Posh who had battled gamely without creating too many clear opportunities, aside from the goal.
