A youthful Peterborough United second string held counterparts Watford to a goal-less draw in the latest Totesport Football Combination League fixture at Boreham Wood on Monday evening.

With just James McKeown and Craig Braham-Barrett from the first team squad in action, the youngsters put in a good performance and could have yielded all three points from the clash had they taken the chances created in front of goal.

Watford were reduced to 10-men on 34 minutes after Watford wide-man Cauna was sent-off for lashing out at Braham-Barrett whilst he was on the floor. Scott Ginty and Nathan Korenteng both went close for Posh in the second half, while goalkeeper McKeown was a mere spectator.

Posh are next in action on Tuesday afternoon with Ipswich Town the visitors to London Road (2pm). Mark Tyler, Daniel Blanchett, Shane Blackett, Sergio Torres, Shaun Batt and Kwesi Appiah are all set to be involved.
