Hatch On Target In Second String Defeat

Posted on: Wed 20 Aug 2008

The Football Combination League got underway on Wednesday night and Peterborough United opened with a 3-1 defeat at Ipswich Town, who included former Real Madrid star Ivan Campo in their line-up.

Posh opened the scoring inside the first minute with Liam Hatch beating Supple to the ball and heading it into the back of the net. Ipswich soon levelled the scores and were soon in front.

The Tractor Boys completed the scoring in the final few moments to secure victory. Jamie Day came through 75 minutes unscathed while Scott Rendell, Shaun Batt, Paul Coutts, Kieran Charnock and Chris Whelpdale all featured.
