Blackett Eases Back Into Action
Defender Shane Blackett came through just over an hour without any adverse affects as the Peterborough United second string brushed aside the challenge of Grays Athletic on Wednesday evening.
Goals from Jack Lyons, Rene Howe and Hakeem Araba saw an experienced Posh side coast to a 3-0 win, but it was the return of Blackett that pleased boss Darren Ferguson the most.
'Shane came through 65 minutes without any problems at all. He looked comfortable on the ball and showed good pace and I am delighted with his display. He will be in the squad for Saturday's game,' Ferguson said.
Josh Low continued to get match action under his belt, completing over an hour of action, while Gavin Strachan, Peter Gain, Adam Newton and James McKeown were also involved.
The front two of Howe and Lyons caused plenty of problems and both took their goals well before substitute Hakeem Araba completed the scoring late-on with a close-range effort.
