Powerful defender who many Peterborough United supporters believe was the reason why the club secured automatic promotion to the Coca-Cola Championship. An out and out centre back, Zakuani helped shore up the Posh defence and his experience playing in the Championship during a loan spell with Stoke City during the 2007-2008 campaign will stand him in good stead ahead of the new campaign. Zakuani moved from Leyton Orient to Premier League Fulham for a reported £1 million back in 2006, but only made a handful of appearances for the Cottagers.
