Ferguson Fined By The FA

Posted on: Wed 02 Sep 2009

Darren Ferguson admitted an improper conduct charge relating to the use of abusive language towards the match referee in the tunnel immediately following Peterborough United's home fixture with West Bromwich Albion on 18 August.

Ferguson was fined £750 and given a suspended two match touchline ban. This ban is suspended for the rest of the 2009-10 season and would come into effect in the event of a similar breach of rules. The Commission took into account Ferguson's previous good disciplinary record, admission of the charge and letter of apology to the referee.
