Gavin Strachan Has Two Left Feet!

Posted on: Thu 12 Jul 2007

Celtic manager Gordon Strachan will meet up with his son Gavin on Friday evening as Peterborough United face the Scottish double-winners in a friendly at London Road (7.45pm).

The Hoops boss is looking forward to the pre-season clash and can't wait to see his son again, if only to give him some stick over his dancing, which was on display at a recent Rod Stewart concert.

'It will be great to see Gavin at Peterborough. I actually saw him last week at the Rod Stewart concert. Gavin is a useless dancer, but the concert was good! I actually played alongside him in the reserves at Coventry City during my playing days, so it is not the first time we have been involved in a game together,' Strachan senior told theposh.com.

Gordon is also looking forward to meeting up with Posh Director of Football Barry Fry, who he has known within the game for many years. 'We used to watch youth games at Coventry together and always chew the fat over football whenever we are in the same company. I think losing his money buying football club's keeps him going!

'I am looking forward to Friday night. From our point of view we want to come out of the game with no injuries and good fitness. We are always looking to improve as a team and build on each season,' Strachan continued.

Darren Ferguson is cutting his teeth at management and Strachan has a small piece of advice for the Peterborough United boss as he begins his first full season in the hot-seat at London Road. 'It is an impossible task if we stick with reality for Darren to achieve what his father has, but he has a good chance of success in his own right.'
