Bob Symns, on behalf of the Peterborough United directors, have sponsored youngster Michael Sansby so he can go on a football tour to Scandinavia following an appeal last week on Lite FM (106.8).

The youngster was invited along with two of his Yaxley team-mates to attend the tour, but the family would have had difficulty sponsoring him so he could travel to the international tournament.

Symns responded to the appeal by Kev Lawrence on the breakfast show and the youngster was invited along to Saturday's League Two meeting with Carlisle United at London Road.

'Matthew was invited along with two co-players from Yaxley to attend in Scandinavia and after hearing the appeal, I, on behalf of the rest of the Board of Directors and Peterborough United, offered to sponsor him so he could go on the tour.

'He is a nice lad and has a wonderful family and we were delighted to sponsor him so he can attend the event. We hope he has a fantastic time,' Symns told theposh.com.
