Plymouth v Posh: The Match Preview

Posted on: Fri 27 Aug 2010

Peterborough United will look to transfer their excellent home form into matches away from home on Saturday when they travel to Plymouth Argyle (3pm).

Argyle, managed by Peter Reid, have had a decent start to their campaign and will be one of the favourites for an immediate return to the Championship.

TEAM NEWS

Posh will be without the services of full-back Mark Little, who will undergo a knee operation, ruling him out of action for up to six weeks. Gabriel Zakuani returns to the squad after recovering from a groin injury, but Chris Whelpdale and Lee Frecklington are still sidelined.

Argyle are not set to make too many changes to their starting line-up and boss Reid has confirmed that Joe Mason and Rory Patterson will be leading the line.

MANAGER QUOTES

'We need to transfer our good home form into matches on the road, but Plymouth Argyle are a good side and will be up there or thereabouts at the end of the season. We need to get our mentality right,' Johnson said.

LAST TIME OUT

The two sides met at the end of the Championship campaign with both sides knowing that they would be playing in League One this term. Two goals from Craig Mackail-Smith earned Posh a 2-1 victory.
