Peterborough United open their npower League One campaign with a home fixture against Bristol Rovers at London Road on Saturday afternoon (3pm).
Gary Johnson's men have had a competitive pre-season and go into the season full of confidence after a 3-1 away success at Barnet.

Posh are without the services of defender Gabriel Zakuani (groin), Chris Whelpdale (thigh) and Lee Frecklington (knee), but the trio are making good progress. Frecklington has received the all-clear from the specialist to step up his training, while Whelpdale's injury is not serious.

Posh are likely to hand competitive Posh debuts to Grant McCann, Seth Nana Ofori-Twumasi, Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, Kelvin Langmead, Dave Hibbert, Arron Davies and James Wesolowski.

Posh have happy memories of facing Bristol Rovers, particularly on the opening day. In Keith Alexander's first game in charge, Posh beat Rovers 4-1 on a warm summers day with Simon Yeo (2), Richard Butcher and Jamie Day on target.

Bristol Rovers striker Jo Kuffour is going to be relied on to score the goals once again for the Pirates. The pacy front man netted 14 goals last term and will be looking for a similar return this season.

Supporters who wish to watch the action from the South Stand and London Road Terrace can pay on the turnstile. Supporters who prefer to watch the game from the Main Stand will need to purchase their ticket from the Ticket Office on the match day. Remember under 16s can watch the action in the South Stand for just £5.
