Peterborough United central defender Craig Morgan has signed for Championship side Preston North End for a fee of £400,000.
The Welsh international passed a medical on Tuesday afternoon following talks at Deepdale and will fly out to join his Preston team-mates in Spain.
Morgan, who joined Posh from Milton Keynes Dons on a free transfer, was a big part of the club's double promotion winning campaign's, forming effective partnerships with Gabriel Zakuani and Chris Westwood.
Director of Football Barry Fry said: 'We signed Craig on a free transfer from MK Dons and I would like to thank him for his service during his time with us. He contributed greatly to the back to back promotions.
'The £400,000, as well as the possibility of another £250,000 if Preston are successful is a good deal and not only that we have a 25% sell-on clause if Preston do sell him in the future.
'If you put that alongside the Scott Rendell deal which was for £125,000, then I think we have had a pretty good week,' Fry said.
Morgan had only one year to run on his current contract at London Road.
