Plymouth v Posh: The Match Preview

Posted on: Fri 30 Apr 2010

Peterborough United complete their Coca-Cola Championship campaign at Home Park on Sunday afternoon (1pm) with Plymouth Argyle providing the opposition for Gary Johnson's men.

Argyle themselves will be playing in League One next term, but although the points will mean nothing to either side in terms of league position, both teams will be looking to end the season on a high.

TEAM NEWS

Posh still have plenty of injury worries to contend with, but Johnson can welcome back Craig Morgan to the fold after the Welsh international missed the defeat to Blackpool with illness. Lee Frecklington (hamstring), Gabriel Zakuani (groin), Sergio Torres (ankle), Chris Whelpdale (ankle) and Aaron Mclean (knee) are all out, while Scott Griffiths and Joe Lewis remain doubts.

Plymouth will be without the services of striker's Kenny Cooper and Jamie Mackie, while Craig Noone is also out of the clash with Posh.

MANAGER QUOTES

'We want to end the season on a high and get the victory, but our injury situation hasn't really got that much better, so we will go with what we have got. Plymouth have done well of late in terms of their results, but they were quite a way behind the rest and just fell short. I am sure they will want to end the season well in front of their own supporters,' Johnson said.

BETTING

Posh are 3/1 to win the game at Home Park with online bookmakers www.theposhbet.com while Tommy Rowe is 20/1 to score the first goal - he has been in good goalscoring form of late.
