Peterborough United boss Jim Gannon took charge of his final game as manager at Oakwell and admitted the day was one of 'mixed emotions'.
Gannon was proud of his side's performance, particularly as he felt that he turned up at Oakwell with a 'reserve team' and insisted that the new manager will have a good squad at his disposal next season.
'I took a look around the team coach when we left Peterborough and thought I was heading to a reserve team game because we had so many youngsters and players who have not played many matches this season.
'However, I was an extremely proud man at the final whistle becaues the players were a credit to the football club and they were excellent.
'We lost Joe Lewis to injury, but James McKeown came in and performed very well, making a few good saves and looked comfortable in between the sticks.
'Danny Mills has worked really hard in training and deserved his chance while Romone McCrae came on and performed brilliantly at right-back against a really tricky winger.
'I am proud that I have given those three players a debut in the Football League and hopefully that will stand them in good stead for the future.
'It would have been fitting if Tommy Rowe's goal had won the game for us as I have said many times that Tommy is a very good player. His fitness levels were astonishing and he is a good player for the new manager to work with.
'The foundations are in place at this football club, the new manager will have a good squad to choose from and I am sure there will be plenty of wheeling and dealing to be done.
'I would like to thank Peterborough United for giving me the opportunity to manage in the Championship, I would like to give credit to the players for taking my ideas on board quickly and to the fans, I thank them for their support,' Gannon said.
