Dickinson: 'My Best Ever Goal'

Posted on: Sun 14 Mar 2010

Peterborough United front man Liam Dickinson admitted that his match-winning goal against Watford was the 'best of his career'.

Dickinson scored a fantastic 30-yard lob to earn Posh back-to-back wins for the first time this and not only that, their first away win of the campaign.

'It was the best goal of my career without a shadow of a doubt. I think the only other strike that it is up there is the goal I scored at Wembley, but that was inside the area!

'It is funny that the two goals I have scored for the club have come from outside of the area and it was a great feeling to score, it was just instinct to be honest, I just had the ball rolled back to me by Tommy Rowe and thought 'why not'.

'To win away was important for the players and for the supporters and I thought we deserved it. We had one or two chances and the boys at the back defended superbly.

'The system that Jim Gannon deployed asks a lot of the front three, but we are prepared to do the work and everyone worked tremendously hard,' Dickinson said.

The striker, who is on-loan from Brighton and Hove Albion, admitted he doesn't know what his own future may hold, but is concentrating on helping Posh restore some pride.

'I don't really know what will happen. I have two more years left at Brighton, so I have come here to get some games and help Posh out. There is a lot of talent in the squad and we are just trying to pick up a few results and see what happens,' Dickinson concluded.
