Posh v Ipswich: The Match Preview

Posted on: Tue 16 Feb 2010

Peterborough United entertain Roy Keane's Ipswich Town at London Road this evening (7.45pm) in the latest Coca-Cola Championship fixture.

Keane's men, who are still embroiled in a relegation battle after a poor first half of the season, will provide tough opposition after making wholesale changes to their squad in recent months.

TEAM NEWS

Posh defender Gabriel Zakuani is doubtful for the game while Kerrea Gilbert may miss out due to a knock picked up in the defeat to Cardiff City. Craig Morgan missed training on Monday, but is set to recover in time to keep his place in defence. Liam Dickinson could make his debut after moving from Brighton and Hove Albion.

Ipswich allowed Jon Stead to join Coventry City on Monday so David Healy and Daryl Murphy are set to lead the line for the Tractor Boys. Ipswich manager Roy Keane could also welcome back winger Lee Martin to his squad after a hamstring injury. Connor Wickham is available after recovering from a similar problem.

MANAGER QUOTES

'Ipswich are a side that have changed their team around completely since the start of the season and they have started to move away from the drop zone. They play good football and I am sure that it will be pleasing on the eye. It is a big game for us and one we are looking forward to,' Gannon said.

IPSWICH FACTS

Ipswich have drawn more games this season (15) and scored more goals in the first 10 minutes (eight) than any other team in the division. Jon Walters is one goal shy of 50 in his league career. If selected, Liam Rosenior will be making his 200th career league appearance, and Grant Leadbitter could make his 100th club career start.

There is set to be a large away following to tonight's game so a big crowd is expected at London Road.
