Peterborough United manager Mark Cooper believes the training camp in Tenerife has been hugely beneficial to his squad ahead of a massive month of fixtures.

Cooper and his squad have spent five days away from the winter weather and insists that the stay has been invaluable for the team.

'It went very well. It was great to finally get some training done and integrate the new players into the squad.The players have enjoyed the experience and it is something we will definitely look to do again in the future.

'Going to Tenerife won't guarantee we win football matches now we are back, but it means we are a hell of a lot better prepared than we would have been if we had stayed in Peterborough.

'Judging by what I have heard about the weather over here in the past week, we still wouldn't have been able to train. We are now looking forward to the Derby game.

We are looking to get a result from every game we play, regardless of the opposition, and this is no different.Derby have been struggling a bit themselves in the league and we will look to take advantage.

'Hopefully Derby will be a bit tired though after being taken to extra-time in the FA Cup during the week and we can look to get after them from the word go. But Nigel Clough is a true professional and I am sure he will have them ready,' Cooper said.
