Posh Confident Game Will Go Ahead

Posted on: Fri 18 Dec 2009

Peterborough United face Watford in the Coca-Cola Championship on Saturday and every effort is being made to ensure the fixture goes ahead as planned.

The pitch has been covered for several days in anticipation of the snow that arrived on Thursday and Friday. The roadways around the stadium have been gritted, as has the car park at London Road.

The terraces will be dried out and gritted on Saturday morning and the covers will be removed. A club spokesman said: 'We are very confident that the game will go ahead as planned. Everybody is working hard battling against the elements and we have had a lot of help from the City Council. The groundsman and his team have worked extemely hard over the last 48 hours.'
