Lee: 'A Dream Draw'

Posted on: Sun 29 Nov 2009

Peterborough United defender Charlie Lee described the FA Cup third round draw, which pitted the club with Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane, as a 'dream tie'.

Lee came through the ranks with the Lilywhites and made several appearances for the club before joining Posh two years ago.

'It is a dream draw really, Tottenham away is a tie that most clubs would have wanted. It is a superb stadium, will be a big crowd for us to play in front of and one that everybody can look forward to.

'For me personally, it was the one that I wanted. All of my mates will want to be there and I still have a lot of friends at the club.

'We obviously know that they are an excellent side, they showed that in pre-season when they claimed a comfortable win at London Road, but they have gone on to outclass quite a few sides in the Premier League this year as Wigan Athletic found out.

'It is going to be a very tough game, but we will go there with nothing to fear. Nobody expects us to go there and get a result, the pressure will be off and I believe that we have enough ability to go there and perform well,' Lee said.
