Posh v Middlesbrough: The Match Preview

Posted on: Fri 27 Nov 2009

Peterborough United entertain Middlesbrough at London Road on Saturday (3pm) as Mark Cooper takes charge of his first home league fixture.

Cooper was unable to strengthen his squad ahead of the loan deadline with only Kettering Town defender Exodus Geohaghan arriving this week. Jamie Day and Ben Wright both joined League Two sides Dagenham and Redbridge and Grimsby Town respectively.

TEAM NEWS

Posh have a fully fit squad to choose from for the clash with Gordon Strachan's side, but it is unlikely that Cooper will make too many changes to his starting line-up.

Saturday will see the return to London Road of Sean St. Ledger who is sure to receive a mixed reception from the home faithful. New loan signing Dave Kitson could be in line for his first start with Marcus Bent his likely partner in attack.

QUOTES

'Peterborough are struggling at the bottom of the league but it's still a tough place to go to. It's a massive game for them because they need the points to help them stay in the league, while we expect to go there and win if we can reproduce the best of our away form,' Gary O'Neil said.

'It is my first home league game and I am looking forward to it. I am sure it will be a good crowd and we need to make this place a fortress, make it a ground teams don't enjoy coming to. That is the aim and we will go into the game looking for the three points,' Cooper said.

ADMISSION DETAILS

The Norwich and Peterborough Family Stand is close to capacity so there will be no cash sales at the turnstiles on Saturday. Supporters wishing to sit in this stand will need to purchase a ticket from the Box Office. A crowd close to 12,000 is expected.
