Bristol City v Posh: The Match Preview

Posted on: Fri 16 Oct 2009

Peterborough United are back in Coca-Cola Championship action on Saturday when Darren Ferguson takes his side to face Bristol City at Ashton Gate (3pm).

After a home defeat to Nottingham Forest, Ferguson will be looking for his side to bounce back against in-form opposition.

TEAM NEWS

Posh are sweating on the fitness of Tom Williams who is due to have a fitness test on an ankle injury sustained in training. Tommy Rowe and Krystian Pearce are both pushing for starts, while Ferguson will assess the fitness of Craig Morgan after he played the full 90 minutes for Wales mid-week.

Bristol City will be without Brian Wilson who suffered an injury setback in a reserve match against AFC Bournemouth.

MANAGER QUOTES

'Bristol City are an excellent side at Ashton Gate, they are a well-organised team and they know the Championship very well. They have some good players and it will be a tough test for us,' Ferguson said.

REFEREE

Jarnail Singh from Middlesex is in charge. He hasn't taken charge of a Peterborough game since the 2006/07 season, when he was the official for the 3-0 home reverse to Stockport County and the 5-0 defeat at Walsall. Has shown 32 yellow cards in eight games this season - but no red cards.
