Peterborough United will be hoping to bounce back from the disappointing 2-0 defeat at Blackpool on Saturday when they entertain struggling Plymouth Argyle at London Road this evening (7.45pm).
Plymouth are rooted to the bottom of the Coca-Cola Championship following a 1-0 home loss to Nottingham Forest in front of the live TV cameras on Sunday and boss Paul Sturrock is under pressure to deliver results.
Ahead of tonight's game there will be a minute's applause in memory of Terry Bly, who sadly passed away last week. Bly's family and former team-mates Roy Banham and Peter McNamee will be in attendance.
TEAM NEWS
Posh are still without the services of the versatile Charlie Lee due to an ankle injury, while Dominic Green is still nursing a dead leg. Darren Ferguson may choose to make changes in his defence with Krystian Pearce standing by to make his league debut for the club.
Plymouth Argyle have suffered another injury blow as they prepare to end a seven-match Championship losing streak. Icelandic international midfielder Kari Arnason - who has been filling in at centre back for the injury-hit greens - suffered a hamstring injury during the first half of Sunday's 1-0 home defeat by Nottingham Forest.
His place went to on-loan Manchester United central defender James Chester, 20, who made his Championship debut alongside on-loan Aston Villa centre back Shane Lowry, who was making his first home start for Plymouth after shrugging off an ankle injury.
Arnason is ruled out of the clash along with Reda Johnson (knee) and experienced centre half Chris Barker (calf) as Argyle bid to end their winless start.Hungarian international defender Krisztian Timar will vie with Chester, who spent a spell on loan at Peterborough last season, for the starting spot alongside Lowry.
MANAGER QUOTES
'This will not be an easy game. Plymouth are a good side and were unlucky not to get something from the match on Sunday against Nottingham Forest. We need to start the game at a good tempo because we gave ourselves a mountain to climb at Blackpool,' Ferguson said.
'Peterborough have got decent-standard players all through the team. But, if you look at their goals-against column, they do concede as well,' Sturrock said.
