Peterborough United travel north to face Blackpool at Bloomfield Road in the Coca-Cola Championship on Saturday (3pm) buoyed by the 3-2 victory over Reading in their last league fixture.
Darren Ferguson's men also recorded a comfortable victory over Newcastle United in the Carling Cup, but Saturday's opponents have also tasted success against the Toon Army, this time in the league.
TEAM NEWS
Posh are without the services of Charlie Lee (ankle) and Dominic Green (dead leg). Both are doubtful for Tuesday's clash with Plymouth Argyle. Chris Whelpdale is pushing for a place in the starting line-up, while Jamie Day has also trained well this week.
Blackpool are without the services of Gary Taylor-Fletcher due to an ankle injury, but are not expected to make too many changes from their last league fixture.
MANAGER QUOTES
'We have had a good week and we want to top it off with a win at Blackpool, but we know it is going to be difficult because Blackpool are a well-organised side.
'Ian Holloway always has his teams fired up and Saturday will be no different. They have a good work ethic in their squad and they all work hard for each other. Charlie Adam has scored four goals from midfield and he was a player that I looked at in the summer,' Ferguson said.
'The minute you start to expect, it will go wrong. Optimism is great, but not expectation and if people think we are going to beat Peterborough by simply turning up they have another think coming. Have a look at the reports we've had about them. They play some fantastic football. At last they got what they deserved last Saturday, which was a win against Reading. Then they beat Newcastle in midweek, so they are on a roll and if we are to get a result we have to earn it. My feet are totally welded to the floor.
'The fans can get excited because we've had a good start. But that's it. It doesn't mean anything more. It's like this: the bell has gone at the start of a marathon. We have sprinted off and 100 yards into it we are about 50 yards ahead of what people's expectations were. But hang on a minute, they are all going to catch up. We have 26 miles to go. So chill out, have a sandwich, enjoy yourself. Make sure you keep bringing your optimism with you, mind, but just don't get expectant,' Holloway said.
