Fulham Test For Posh Squad

Posted on: Fri 24 Jul 2009

Peterborough United continue their pre-season campaign with an attractive friendly with Premier League side Fulham at London Road on Saturday (3pm) and new Cottagers signing Bjorn Helge Riise could make his debut after moving from Norwegian side Lillestrom this week.

Riise, who is the younger brother of former Liverpool defender John Arne, has linked up with his new team-mates and may be given the chance to shine against Darren Ferguson's men. Riise was delighted to agree a switch to Craven Cottage.

'It is a dream come true for me to have signed for Fulham and I am looking forward to joining the team for pre-season training now the agreement is complete. Obviously I know Brede and Erik very well from the National team and they have only good things to say about the Club.

'Fulham had a fantastic season last year under Roy Hodgson who is a Manager I admire very much, his record in Scandanavia speaks for itself and I am very excited about working with him over the coming months and to being part of Fulham Football Club at such an exciting time.'

Fulham have former Posh midfielder Simon Davies within their ranks, but the Welshman is not set to feature following an operation at the back end of last season. Andrew Johnson and Bobby Zamora could lead the line, although the latter has been linked with a move away from the club in the last couple of weeks.

Fulham have been quiet in the transfer market to date with only Stephen Kelly making the move to the club. Fulham have just returned to the country after a tour of Australia with the club beating Perth Glory 5-0 and Melbourne Victory 3-0. Gold Coast United were victorious 2-1 over Roy Hodgson's men. Hodgson's men start their Europa League campaign against FK Vetra on Thursday 30th July.

Remember, this fixture with Fulham is not all-ticket and supporters can gain admission on the day. Prices are set at £20 for adults to sit, £15 for adults to stand, £12 for students, senior citizens and registered disabled with under 16s admitted for £8.
