Peterborough United have signed Hereford United midfielder Toumani Diagouraga for an undisclosed fee on a four-year contract, subject to Football League approval.
The 22-year-old was at London Road on Wednesday morning to sign the paperwork and he will meet his new team-mates on 1st July, when the players report for pre-season training.
Diagouraga, who started his career with Coca-Cola Championship side Watford, admits he is delighted to be back at that level and revealed it was the ambition that Peterborough United showed that persuaded him to leave Edgar Street.
'The ambition that the club showed was first-class and that has persuaded me to join. Peterborough are going places and I am pleased to be here. I played against the club for Hereford last season and when the opportunity came about to talk to Peterborough I jumped at the chance.
'You could see that they had some very good players and the last two years have been very successful for the club and hopefully we can continue to push forward. I am pleased to be back in the Championship again, I was at Watford at this level and it has been good for me to play in League Two and League One, it was a learning curve.
'I had a very good time at Hereford and I am sad to leave them, but at the end of the day I had to do what is best for me and my career and it is exciting times that I am now a Peterborough player and I can't wait to get started,' Diagouraga told theposh.com.
Diagouraga is the third arrival this summer following the signings of Lee Frecklington and Tommy Rowe. Liam Hatch and Mark Tyler have so far been the only departures from London Road.
