Peterborough United front man Liam Hatch has joined Blue Square Premier League side Luton Town on a year-long loan with a view to a permanent move.

Hatch, who spent much of last season on-loan at Darlington, was interesting 12 other clubs, including three in Coca-Cola League One and Posh Director of Football Barry Fry insists it is testament to the ambition of the Hatters that Hatch has agreed a move to Kenilworth Road.

'Liam was interesting a dozen clubs and I think it just goes to show that Luton Town are desperate to only stay out of the Football League for one season. Liam will go for a year and it is with a view to a permanent transfer, so hopefully it will be a move to benefit all parties,' Fry told theposh.com.

Hatch joined Posh for a fee of £150,000 in January 2008 from League Two side Barnet and scored twice for the club. He was loaned to Darlington where he scored nine goals in 23 appearances. His spell at in the North East was disrupted by a nasty neck injury.

The striker was put on the transfer list alongside 11 other players in the summer and is the first to depart London Road ahead of the new season. Chris Westwood, Mark Tyler, Shane Blackett and Sergio Torres are among the other players available for transfer.
