Children aged between 4 and 12 enjoyed a Junior Posh coaching day at Hampton College on Wednesday and got to meet Peterborough United winger Chris Whelpdale, who answered questions, posed for pictures and presented certificates.

The youngsters enjoyed qualified coaching from Football in the Community staff from 10am until 1.30pm with Whelpdale on hand to make the presentations at the end of the session.

The day, which was targeted at the younger members of Junior Posh, was full of fun-based football coaching and despite the poor weather, it was an excellent turnout. Posh Football in the Community Officer Nick Sheppard said:

'The day was a great success with everyone having an enjoyable time. Each player tried very hard and learned lots of new skills and came away with a memento of the day. It was great of Chris Whelpdale to come down and spend some time with the youngsters,' Sheppard said.
