Peterborough United travel to the Memorial Stadium on Saturday (3pm) to face Bristol Rovers in Coca-Cola League One action and manager Darren Ferguson is still awaiting news on the fitness of defender Craig Morgan.
The defender played 40 minutes of a reserve team fixture with Colchester United on Wednesday afternoon and endured some discomfort so was replaced. Ferguson is hopeful he will respond to treatment and travel with the rest of the squad to the South West.
TEAM NEWS
If Morgan does not respond to treatment, Ferguson will choose between Shane Blackett, Chris Westwood and Russell Martin for the central defensive berth alongside Charlie Lee. Lee Frecklington (hamstring) is still sidelined, but will return to training this week and could be involved against Leicester City. Jamie Day (back) is still out.
Coach Paul Trollope must decide whether to retain the side which thrashed Walsall 5-0 and earned a point at Crewe, or recall skipper Stuart Campbell. Now full recovered from illness, the midfielder was an unused substitute at Gresty Road and is now pushing for a place in the starting line-up to face Peterborough.
'It's a nice problem for me to have,' reasoned Trollope. 'Stuart was frustrated to be ill and to miss out and now has to work his way back into the team. It means I have additional options and that's a good thing to have at this stage of the season.'
ONE TO WATCH
It is hard not to single out striker Ricky Lambert due to the goals he has scored this season. The former Stockport front man is a powerful presence and leads the goal-scoring charts in League One. He has two hat-tricks to his name this season and has formed an effective partnership with Daryll Duffy.
MANAGER QUOTES
'Bristol Rovers are a difficult side to play against and make no mistake, this is as tough as the fixture with Leicester City. We know that we will have to be at our best to get the right result, but we go there with confidence and a pretty fully fit squad at our disposal,' Ferguson said.
OPPOSITION QUOTES
'The confidence and the belief is there,' said defender Byron Anthony. 'Everyone is buzzing and we're all enjoying our football at the moment. We're on a good run and we believe we can carry that on.
'We have a great set of fans behind us and we know that, if we keep playing well, we can still finish the season strongly. When you are playing with confidence like we are, you feel that anything is possible. We're not getting carried away and we'll keep taking it one game at a time rather than looking at the bigger picture, but we look at the table and we know it (the play-offs) is still on.
'We have the right mind-set in the dressing room and there is a real determination to show what we can do and to do well. There is a resilience about the team and we're mentally strong. We're on a good run at present and that helps,' Anthony said.
