Williams Expected To Return

Posted on: Mon 05 Jan 2009

Manager Darren Ferguson is set to be boosted ahead of the meeting with Milton Keynes Dons at London Road on Tuesday night with the return of defender Tommy Williams from injury.

The experienced left-back missed the 1-1 draw at West Bromwich Albion due to an ankle injury, but trained on Monday and is expected to return to the starting line-up for the clash with Roberto Di Matteo's men.

Charlie Lee deputised to good effect at left-back at the Hawthorns and Ferguson has a difficult decision to make on his final starting line-up. Jamie Day and Shane Blackett are long-term absentees and Chris Westwood has joined Cheltenham Town on a one month loan deal.

Liam Hatch has returned to London Road following his loan stint at Darlington and is available for selection. The Dons are not reporting any fresh injury worries, but are without recent signing Luke Chadwick who is unavailable for another three weeks.

A win for Posh will take them within three points of their opponents, who are currently sitting in an automatic promotion place in Coca-Cola League One. The game gets underway at London Road at 7.45pm.
