Striker Aaron Mclean scored the only goal of the game at Yeovil Town on Saturday and as the ball found the back of the net, he made his way over to a man dressed as a woman.

It is not a sentence that is normally written, but the celebration has a sensible explanation. You see, the man dressed as a woman was former Evening Telegraph reporter Nick Howells who was in the middle of his stag weekend.

'A friend of mine was on the stag do and I went over during the warm up to have my photograph taken with Nick and I just thought when I scored it was the perfect way to celebrate.

He was dressed up in a French maid's outfit and he had a duster which he had been using throughout the game on the stewards and it was just something a bit different. He polished my head and I have seen it numerous times on the television over the weekend.

'I think all of his mates were dressed in Darragh MacAnthony suits and they were obviously having a great time. It was just nice to be able to score the winner and give them something extra to celebrate. I thought we certainly deserved the win even though it was a bit of a backs-to-the-wall effort in the second half.

'We played some really good football in the first half and when the ball broke for my goal, I just concentrated on hitting the ball low and across the goalkeeper. I always think you have got a good chance of scoring if you use that technique,' Mclean told theposh.com.

Mclean also praised centre back Gabriel Zakuani for his performance at the heart of the Posh defence and like his team-mates, is hoping the on-loan star will make his move permanent in the January transfer window.

'I would hate to play against Gabriel because he is all over you like a rash. I am just glad he is on our team and hopefully he will stay. I thought the whole defence played well and we are keeping clean sheets in important matches,' Mclean added.
