Peterborough United boss Darren Ferguson praised his side's resolve after a battling defensive display in the second half protected the three points which were secured by an Aaron Mclean strike in the first period.

Mclean fired across the Yeovil Town goalkeeper to give Posh a half-time lead and despite a lot of late pressure, stemming from long balls aimed at Terry Skiverton, Ferguson's men held on.

'I thought we played some good stuff in the first half and created a few notable chances in front of goal. Aaron scored a good goal and I thought Sergio Torres' performance was outstanding before he tired. He got in some good positions and caused them problems.

'In the second half we really had to defend, but I thought we did everything we had to. Joe Lewis made a great save in the first half, but the two centre backs protected him brilliantly in the second period. It is another good win and another clean sheet.

'It is 12 unbeaten in the league and I am really proud of my players. We know we didn't keep the ball well enough in the second period, but I can't be too critical with them because they showed great resolve,' Ferguson told theposh.com.
