Peterborough United boss Darren Ferguson was pleased with his side's performance and believes the way opponents Brighton and Hove Albion set out their stall to defend was a compliment to the way Posh have started this campaign.

Brighton played with one up front and packed the midfield to stop the hosts from playing their free-flowing football, but despite those tactics, Ferguson's men still created plenty of chances in a frustrating evening.

'I said to the players in the dressing room following the game that I was happy with the display and the way Brighton played was a compliment because they were obviously very wary of our attacking potency. Not many clubs want to play at London Road and that is a sign of the progress we are making.

'When I arrived we were 11th in League Two and we are sitting just outside the play-offs in League One playing some excellent football. We didn't create too many clear-cut opportunities against Brighton, but we caused them problems and were a tad unfortunate not to collect maximum points.

'It keeps the unbeaten run going though, we are eight without defeat and it was a clean sheet which is also important. We have another home game against Huddersfield Town on Saturday and our attentions now turn to that fixture,' Ferguson told theposh.com.
