Rendell Set To Join The Hatters

Posted on: Thu 16 Oct 2008

Striker Scott Rendell is expected to complete a move to Coca-Cola League Two side Luton Town on a one-month loan deal with the former Cambridge United front man falling behind Shaun Batt in the pecking order at London Road.

Rendell was not involved in the 16 at Walsall at the weekend and with Aaron Mclean back fit, boss Darren Ferguson believes it is important for Rendell that he goes out and gets first team football.

'Mick Harford watched our reserve team match on Wednesday and wanted Scott. He was a striker himself so I am sure he will develop Scott's game while he is at Kenilworth Road. I just felt that Scott needs games, he wasn't in the squad at the weekend and obviously wants to play.

'We have Aaron, Craig Mackail-Smith, Shaun Batt and George Boyd who can play there he wouldn't get in ahead of those players. Scott understood the situation and is looking forward to playing matches,' Ferguson told theposh.com.

Meanwhile central defender Kieran Charnock has completed his one-month loan move to Accrington Stanley after meeting with officials on Wednesday.
