Posh v Tranmere Rovers: The Match Preview
Peterborough United entertain Tranmere Rovers at London Road on Saturday (3pm) in Coca-Cola League One action and boss Darren Ferguson is calling on his players to 'concentrate' for the full 90 minutes, particularly at set-pieces.
Posh recorded a 1-1 draw at local rivals Northampton Town last weekend while opponents Tranmere were 2-1 winners at Huddersfield Town.
TEAM NEWS
Posh are without the services of striker Aaron Mclean (dislocated elbow) and defender Shane Blackett (dislocated shoulder), while midfielders Sergio Torres and Dean Keates are major doubts.
Tranmere have no fresh injury worries for the clash at London Road and will bring a squad of 18 for the fixture.
ONE TO WATCH
Chris Greenacre is a proven goal-scorer at the lower level and has been top scorer at Prenton Park for the last few seasons. He is a livewire around the box and has improved his hold-up play and is able to bring others into play effectively.
MANAGER QUOTES
'We will have to concentrate at all times, particularly at set-pieces as Tranmere are a big, strong side. They can play too though, they are attractive to watch and have been in this division for a long time,' Ferguson said.
'We should be going to Peterborough looking to win the game. We got three points from the away game on Saturday and we should be looking to make it six now. They were very unfortunate not to win at Northampton. It will be another tough game for us, but there are no easy games. Whoever you play it's about your attitude and organisation. We know they're going to be an attacking force, but we know where their Achilles heel is and we've got to exploit that.
'It's two attacking sides, they'll certainly be going for it as they're at home. They've got an injury to Maclean up front, but they've got other options of players who can score goals. We have to be strong defensively, and if we are, we've got enough attacking wise to cause them one or two problems. Everybody is fine and wants to play. We've got 21 fit and training this morning and we'll take 18 down to Peterborough,' Tranmere boss Ronnie Moore said.
