Centre back Gabriel Zakuani has signed a three-month loan deal from Premier League side Fulham with the former Leyton Orient defender available for selection on Saturday when Peterborough United travel to Northampton Town.

Zakuani has returned from international duty with Congo and met his new team-mates on Thursday morning. The powerful centre back will give boss Darren Ferguson more options at the back and admits he is delighted to have Zakuani on board.

'Gabriel is a great addition to the squad. He is a big, powerful defender who played 20 games in the Championship last season and will certainly bring something different. It gives us good options at the heart of the defence and I am delighted to have him on board,' Ferguson said.

Zakuani will wear number 26 and his loan spell commences on Saturday morning. We will speak to Gabriel on theposh.com later today.
