Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed that he will be fielding a strong side in Monday's pre-season friendly against Peterborough United at London Road.

Ferguson revealed that the squad will be similar to the one he fields in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's testimonial match against Espanyol at Old Trafford on Saturday. England stars Wayne Rooney, Rio Ferdinand and Michael Carrick are expected to play on Saturday.

Ferguson said: 'I can't be specific, but I will be bringing a very strong side. There will be few if any changes from the side that plays in the testimonial.'
